Westland School wasn’t intimidated to reconcile with its core identity, and what emerged is a magically distilled brand that speaks to the school’s history as a leader in progressive education since 1949. Westland’s own wooden blocks build a contemporary, playful, and powerful visual language that articulates the school as a beautiful timeless product of John Dewey’s vision.

Westland is widely respected as a pioneer in progressive education. Everyone on campus believes in a learning environment that is community oriented, noncompetitive, and child centered. Our social studies–based curriculum is integrated and hands-on. At the core of Westland’s mission is the belief that the most effective learning takes place within a diverse school community.
